Hamid Goudarzi leaves ‘Setayesh’ cast

Iran actor Hamid Goudarzi turns down role in sequel to ifilm popular series ‘Setayesh’.

The famous actor who appeared in ifilm series ‘The Times’ and ‘The Special Unit’ withdrew from appearing in Saeed Soltani’s new production.

This comes as staple actors of the original series Dariush Arjmand, Narges Mohammadi and Sima Tirandaz are confirmed to star in the new installment.

A plot summary for ‘Setayesh’ season 1 reads, “Taher has just finished two years of military service, defending Iran against Saddam Hussein's war of aggression. His friend, who's deserted the frontline, wants Taher to help smuggle him out of the country.”

Despite his better judgment, and at the insistence of his friend's sister, Setayesh, he agrees. Taher and Setayesh eventually grow fond of each other and make plans to marry. But a tragedy causes a great gap between their families that threatens to keep the two from ever finding happiness together.

Mohammadi stars as the female lead in the original ‘Setayesh' alongside veteran Iranian actor Arjmand.
